Joseph Walsh
Born in Co Cork, Joseph Walsh began his broad experimentation with wood at an early age. This included fretwork and carving, leading onto furniture making inspired, at that time, by Irish farmhouse furniture design. He then went on to establish his workshop in 1998. Joseph is self-taught and, over the years, has travelling extensively in Europe, Asia and the US, visiting many designer makers, galleries and museums. As a result of the skills and techniques learnt during this period, his passion for design and a sensitive use of materials, he has developed a truly unique style.
In addition to the Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa Hotel, his work is in the collection of The National Museum of Ireland, The Embassy of Japan Dublin, Coillte – The Irish Forestry Company and public and private collections in Ireland and overseas. In 2006 Joseph opened a new Studio adjacent to his workshop just 45 minutes drive from Inchydoney.
Majella O'Neill Collins
Majella lives on Sherkin Island, West Cork. Her long experience of studying the shoreline, the sea, the weather conditions and the sky is combined with qualities of light and colour, and new levels of directness, simplification, and abstraction. Her works form part of many collections both nationally and internationally
Matt Lamb
Born in Chicago in 1932, Matt Lamb is a self-taught Irish American artist. Once a successful business owner, Lamb took up painting over 20 years ago when he reached a crisis point in his life. His heavily impastoed, wildly colored paintings have been favorably reviewed by critics and are included in prestigious collections in Europe, South America and this country.
In 2000, Lamb was the Creator, artist, and artistic director of the national installation memorial Victims to Victors of West Cork, Ireland. He has a part –time home in Union Hall, West Cork.
Terry Bradley
Born in Belfast in 1965 Bradley has been pursuing his dream of becoming an artist from his youth. He started to paint full-time in the mid 90’s, focusing his eye on strong confident women, a subject matter he continues to find compelling and inspiring. Terry’s work is held in many private collections both in Ireland and abroad.
Kevin Sharkey
Kevin Sharkey was born in Dublin and grew up in Killybegs in Co. Donegal. He is an internationally recognized artist and one of Ireland's top abstract painters, Kevin has had many successful sell-out exhibitions in the last couple of years and his work is enjoyed both here and overseas.
Pauline Bewick
Based in Kerry, Bewick enjoys international acclaim for her unique style and vibrant work. Her art breathes freedom and movement and her open philosophy has its roots in an unconventional childhood which was spent traveling around England and Ireland, living in houseboats and caravans. Following a prolific career from childhood upwards, her vivid paintings are featured in galleries and collections worldwide.
Graham Knuttel
Graham Knuttel was born in Dublin in 1954 of German and English parents. Knuttle has emerged as a painter with a rapidly growing international reputation. His works are present in collection in the USA and Europe as well as in Ireland.
Marky Robinson
Marky died early in January 1999, following a sixty-year career. His greatest works - expressionist-influenced landscape, heavily-outlined clowns, still-lives and erotica - place him in the first division of Irish twentieth-century art.
